I've just posted another drummer meme here.
This one makes fun of those drummers who get up close and personal with their drums trying to tune them.
The question is, how many of these drummers actually know what they're doing when they try to tune drumkits. What is it exactly that they're looking for?
I believe that as a drummer, you either naturally know how to tune your drumkit or it is something that you develop over a lifetime of playing the instrument.
I do find that the older drummers tend to have a better ear and know what to look for. Whereas the newer drummers have no idea what to look for when tuning drums.
What do you do when you tune your kits? What is your reference point and how much time do you put into making sure that your kit sounds good?
